Bring your troop to Roca and earn a Climbing Merit Badge
What you will learn:
Our 3 to 3.5-hour Climbing Merit Badge class is a great way for Scouts to meet the requirements for the BSA Climbing Merit Badge.
We will cover badge requirements that include belaying, rappelling, knot tying, rope management, and other general safety requirements.*
*Only Merit Badge requirements 6-12 will be covered at the gym. All other requirements must be covered on your own.
Rates:
The price for this course is $55.00 per climber. Troops must pay as a group and cannot pay individually. If you are tax-exempt, you must provide your tax-exempt ID number and/or paperwork ahead of time.
Participants:
This class is open to both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, however, the requirements met are only that of the BSA Climbing Merit Badge. Scouts must be at least 10 years old.
We require a minimum of 4 climbers to run the course. Our maximum for the class is 12 climbers. You must have at least 2 adult chaperones with the Youth protection training to help with supervision for climbers.
Timeframe:
The group event is 3 to 3.5 hours and we typically schedule Merit Badge classes on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings.
Other Requirements:
Before you come to our Merit Badge class, your group must complete Climbing Merit Badge Requirements 1-5 and 13. This requirement ensures that all your scouts will be ready to take our class and understand the background of the Merit Badge.
